一般过去时表示过去发生的动作或过去存在的状态。陈述句的句型是：主语+动词过去式+其他成分 或主语+was/were+表语。 现在完成时表示过去发生的动作对现在造成的影响。陈述句的句型是：主语+动词的过去分词+其它成分 现在完成时和一般过去时都和过去发生的事件有关。 但现在完成时强调过去发生的动作对现在造成的影响。它属于现在的时态。 I had breakfast。（过去吃过早饭，但现在肚子是饱还是饿，不清楚） I have had breakfast。（过去吃过早饭，现在肚子还饱饱 的） He opened the door。 （他把门打开了，但现在门是否还开着，不清楚） He has opened the door。（他把门打开了，门现在还开着） 当然现在完成时还表示过去的经历，从过去某时开始一直延续到现在，有可能还会继续下去的动作等。
现在完成时和一般过去时都有和他们相对应的时间状语连用，yesterday,the day before yesterday,last night,last week, a moment ago,three days ago,in 1990,in the 1990s等和过去时连用。 before,already,yet ever,never, since 1990,so far,in the last three years 等和完成时连用。 参考文献：初中英语 。
