In the US, relatives of victims of the September 11th attacks on the World Trade Center he gathered to pay tribute to their loved ones, ahead of the seventh anniversary of the attack.

The mourners also took part in a workshop. Using family pictures and letters, they created an online memorial. Officials in New York City also invited the public to write on steel beams that will be used to construct the National September 11th Memorial Museum.
Meanwhile, in Kabul, US forces held a memorial ceremony at Camp Eggers. Soldiers laid a floral wreath and observed a moment of silence in memory of the Nine-Eleven victims.
