上课后的几分钟，身体又开始疲惫起来，才开学第二个星期，我不知不觉又有了这样的感受。因为在假期中竟争没了。 我觉得成长就是这样，在漫长的人生中，竟争是不可缺的，有了竟争才会有向上、也就是说社会的进步靠的是竟争得来的。每当你走在回家的路上，一边吹着清凉的空气，一边赏视着路边的那些弯曲的花草，谁都知道它们很幸福地生长在这样的一个雨露、阳光充足的环境里。
但如果你去过丛林深山，你便会知道这些花草是多么的脆弱。植物都是需要阳光，但如果被别的树挡住了，会怎么办？竟争，这是没理由的。要想不被别人比下去，就要比别人更有能力。所以那里的树才会长得那么直、那么高、以便得到更多的阳光。说完地上，在看看地下。如果在一棵树下挖开土看看，便会发现树的根是多么的粗大，甚至伸到地下几十米外。
如果把树的杆比作人的才能，把森林比作社会，树杆越高得到的阳光供给树根越充足，树根便越来越粗，越来越深。从这里就可以得出：人，是需要竟争的。竟争靠的是知识，有知识超过别人，然后再以获得的一些物质去让自己在社会上有立足的能力，只有这样才能使社会更加繁荣。如果没有竟争，那样的小草风一吹就倒了，但如果有了竟争，再大的风也不能把它吹倒，因为它经过了千锤百炼，已根深地固。
现在这样的社会上，没有谁让着谁，只有谁挤着谁，大挤小，强挤弱等都是必然的。所以如果放弃就表示提前取消生命的资格。只有竟争才能让人生活得更精神。而知识就是竟争最好的武器。
