高中的生活总是快节奏的。每天都是匆匆地来，又匆匆地去。到学校时，教室里又是黑压压的一片，放眼望去，同学全都在埋头认真学习。教室里静悄悄的，仿佛连一根针掉在地上的声音都听得十分清楚。我站在门口，望着这一幅既美好又令我有点痛心的场面，我不想，也不忍在这平静的湖面上，添上煞风景的脚步声。
然而，我还是悄悄地走了进去。一步一步都走得小心翼翼。原本只需几秒钟的路程却仿佛走了几个世纪。时而有人抬起头来察看脚步声的来源，但马上又深深地扎下去，扎下去。我呆住了，那是怎样的一张脸？浓浓的黑眼圈，大大的眼袋，满脸的倦容，几根依稀可见的银丝在黑发中默默哭泣。这是属于我们花季的模样吗？
原来，花季的花儿并不总是那么娇美；初升的太阳也并不总是那么圆，那么红。
坐在座位上，我心如刀绞。我想，我们今天肯定没照镜子，没有仔细地看看自己。我想是这样的。一种强烈的使命感让我拿起书本，成为这幅没有生气的画面中的一员。尽管我并不愿意这样。
课间休息时，仍是这幅图画，静静地带着种死寂的气息。我想出去走走，去看看正值花期的花儿。在新鲜的空气中，我摘下眼镜，揉了揉麻木的鼻梁。取下眼镜后，才发现世界原来不是清晰的，一切都是那么朦胧。在这个世界里，一切都是陌生的，你看不清我，我看不清你。有人说，你想看清外面的世界，必须先擦净你的窗户，否则世界总是污浊的。
我用力去擦拭窗户上的污垢，然而一切都是徒劳的，这时我才猛然醒悟过来，已经那么多年了，污垢早已根深蒂固了，无论你怎样擦，总擦不干净。
我摸索着走到了开得正欢的花儿旁边，一簇一簇的，娇美的花儿，好不美丽。这才是真正的花季中的花儿！永远面带笑容，干干净净，不受世俗的污染。
也许真该照照镜子了。寻找早已丢失的活力，寻找那些逝去的年华。也许该去找找花季中的花儿了，去感受它们的美丽、青春和活力。

With my three children, I prepared to move back to Illinois. As I packed, a deep depression overtook me. I wondered if I could make it on my own. I wondered if I would fred a job.
