具体点丹麦城其实是一个名叫Solvang的小镇。从洛杉矶向北，驱车走101号高速公路，再经246号公路向右开出不远，就可以看到这个位于圣塔拿兹谷地、如今已是名闻遐迩的小镇，早上9点出发，近3个小时后，就可以笃悠悠地坐在那里的小饭馆里用午餐了。

Solvang在丹麦语中的意思是“沐浴在阳光下的田野”。说实话，阳光，这正是Solvang第一眼给我的印象。

一如加州的其他城镇，Solvang只有100年不到的历史。1911年，5位来自丹麦的移民买下了这块当时毫不起眼的土地，这些传统的丹麦农民在当地建起了一座乡村学校，为的是让他们的子女能够在从事耕作之余接受传统的丹麦教育。桃李不言，教育兴则地方兴。渐渐的，围绕着这所学校，这个与丹麦本土相隔万里的名叫Solvang的丹麦城形成了。加州人总能办成让世人匪夷所思的事情。
