With the development of the society, English has become more and more important in our daily life. So many students spend more and more time in learning English. But they may have met some difficulties, for example, they find listening is too difficult to improve. Now, I will give you some suggestions: First, you should practice listening as much as possible. It is said that practice makes perfect. You can listen to the radio, such as BBC, VOA and so on. Each time, you needn't practice for a long time. Second, you should choose some fancinating materials which you are interested in, so you wouldn't feel bored when you are practising. Third, you'd better choose the tapes which are not too difficult, you can add the difficulties day by day. In one word, if you can stick to practise listening everyday, I think your listening ability will improve quickly. Passage 3: English is becoming a universal language with the earth turning into a small village.Due to the development of the economy,the international communication depends much more on English language, especially when the internet is becoming one part of our life, English plays an important role in it.For most of the Chinese people, we have the opening-up policy to the outside world.With the entry into the WTO,we will have more and more opportunities to get into touch with different cultures from different countries.In order to promote the understanding, English becomes much more necessary.That is why we should learn English. Passage 4: I am very glad to have this chance speaking English with you.But you know that most of the Chinese students are short of the experience in English oral exoression.Although they try hard to learn and practise, they can't express themselves fluently and clearly.I think , perhaps,the educational system leads to this situation.I feel sorry that my oral English is so poor that you cannot understand me.But I will still try my best to answer your questions.I don't want to let you down. Passage 5: When should we start the learning of a lauguage,especially a foreign language?Some people agree that we should begin it in the childhood. They think that most of the young kids have good memorization in learning a foreign language.And they can lay a very positive foundation for their future study.But the other ones think that young kids will be confused if they begin to learn a foreign language when they are too young.They willbe confused between the English language with the Chinese phonetics.And they insist that young kids' foreign learning will greatly influence their Chinese and their future study. Anyway,different people have different ideas.It depends,personally I thinki,it depends on the young kids' talent and their interest.
