topic: what is the main role of (加a) university professor, to educate students or to do research?People may not appreciate a university professor who spends much of his time doing research rather than teaching. After all, it has been (加the) teachers' responsibility to teach since ancient times. However, this view is far too simplistic nowadays because millions of students can benefit a lot from their teachers' researches. Therefore, I firmly agree that the main role of (加a) university professor is to do research. To begin with, researches (改为researchers) could bring great progress to human society and maybe it would make great breakthroughs one day. University professors are usually the most outstanding persons in their fields (去掉and) thus, their involvements in research will give more impetus to scientific development. So many achievements did Aristotle make in physics and philosophy, he was also an excellent teacher. In modern society, if professors could discover a cure for cancer or a solution to solve global warming, it would benefit millions worldwide. From this point, we can clearly see that it is reasonable for professors to do some researches.Furthermore, a successful research would benefit both the university and its students. First, the university would receive national fundings to further 去掉 the) research. This money could be used to build up advanced laboratories and purchase new experiment (是experimental) facilities, which would conversely benefit the students who use them. Secondly, the research could improve recognition and reputation of the school, which might attract more investment and were conducive for students to pursue higher education.Last but not least, by continuing researches, professors can get to know what are the most recent development and be kept at the forefront of the field. His students thus are able to enjoy the fresh and advanced knowledge brought by the professor. For example, my professor is a famous architect who usually enriches himself by exploring the latest architecture structures and materials. Consequently, you can easily see the most recent constructions applied in our own design, which have hardly been used in any buildings worldwide. From this case above, we can conclude that us (改为”we —“)students have benefited from our professor from his whole-hearted research. All in all, research benefits the society, (加the) university, professors and students. It should, undoubtedly, be given precedence over teaching. This does not mean professors should neglect teaching their students, but they should pay more attention on research.并无甚麽大错,已替你更正了,希望会对你有帮助,并望满意采纳,谢谢。

题目2:In a team, those who do not accept other's criticism cannot succeed. To begin with, it is universally acknowledged that by denying diverse perspectives, the group members will be deprived of the ability to think comprehensively and critically which is a key determinant of success for a team. As we know, there is no one but longs to consider completely when we make plans as a team. Hard as we work, the imagination and horizon of each individual is limited. Besides, people usually cannot assess their proposal objectively. But for accepting ideas from different individuals, we could not have realized the shortcomings of our suggestions, let alone coming up with a perfect plan. So why not be open to different ideas?Another equally important reason is that it will stifle the creativity and imagination of team members, which is an essential element for success of a team. I cannot emphasize the significance of the communication among people holding different perspectives. By that I mean, nothing is more important than to communicate with and learn from different individuals. By combining various traditional ideas, we can put forward a new plan which we have not seen before. That means the more opinions team members adopt, the closer the group is to success. A good case in point is that accepting and combining different ideas, Steve Jobs devised an epoch-making product, called IPAD, changing the way people living and thinking dramatically. What a great job he did! Hence, it pays to absorbing diverse ideas.Admittedly, different opinions may cause tension and conflicts between group members. However, it offers them a precious opportunity to understand each other better, which tends to strengthen/consolidate/enhance/cement overall relationship between group members. Therefore, I reinforce my standpoint to support that the success of a team is largely dependent upon the willingness of acceptance of different ideas.
