Life is a Do-it-yourself Project 生活是一个自己动手的工程 An elderly carpenter was ready to reire.He told his employeer contractor of his plans to leave the house building business and live a more leisurely life with his wife enjoy the extended familiy. He would miss the paycheck but he needed to retire.They could get by.The contractor was sorry to see this good worker go and asked if he could build just one more house as a personal favor.The carpenter said yes but in time it was easy to see that his heart was not in his work.He resorted to shoddy workmanship and used inferior materials 有一位老工匠要退休了。他告诉老板他计划不再做建房屋的生意了，他要和他的妻子过更加悠闲的生活，享受大家庭的快乐。他会怀念他的薪水但是他得退休了。他们还可以过得不错。老板很遗憾，他的好员工就要离开了，他问老工匠是不是可以帮他个忙再为他建一个房子。老工匠答应了，可是不难发现老工匠被没有用心去干活，不但工艺粗糙，使用的也都是次品材料。 It is unfortune way to end his career.When the carpenter finished his work and the builder come to inspeck the house,the contractor handed the front door key to the carpenter and said:＂This is your house ,my gift to you.＂ What a shock! What a shame!If he had only know he was building his own house,he would done it all so differently.Now he had to live in the home he had build none-too-well. 不幸，老工匠就这样结束了他的工作生涯。当房子建好了，建造者来检查房子的时候，他的老板将房子的大门钥匙交到老工匠手中，他说“这房子是你的了，这是我送给你的礼物。”多么令人吃惊！多么令人羞耻！现在老工匠不得不住在这个他潦草了事的房子里了。 So it is with us.We build our lives in distracted way reacting rather than acting ,willing to put up less than the best. At the important pointes we do not the job give the best effort.Then with a shock,we have look the situation we have created and find ourselves living in the house we have built.If we have realised that we would done it differently.Think of yourself as the carpenter ,think about the house. Each day your hammer a nail ,place a board or erect a wall.Build wisely.It is the only life you will ever build.
